Here’s exactly how.

We built My Minute Mix to solve a specific problem: unread bookmarks. To do this, we need to know who you are (your account) and what you want to read or watch (your saved content). We process this information to give you time-boxed mixes.

We collect the following information when you use our service:

Account information

• Your name and email address
• Authentication information (such as OAuth tokens from Google or X)
• Your profile preferences

Saved content

• URLs you explicitly save to the platform
• Titles, descriptions, and metadata of those URLs
• Source and content type identification (e.g., article, video)
• Estimated duration and availability status of saved links
• For YouTube videos, the creator’s chapter list (read from the video’s public description) and how far into the video your mixes have gotten

Imported links

If you import an export file from another service (such as Pocket, Instapaper, Raindrop or your browser’s bookmarks), the file is read in your browser and is not uploaded to our servers. Only the web links it contains, their titles and the dates you originally saved them, where the file includes them, are sent to us and stored in your library, together with a record of the import (its source, how many links it held and the progress of each one) so that we can process it in the background. Nothing else from the file is sent to us or stored. Once imported, those links are handled like any other saved content described in this policy.

The information we collect is used to:

• Create and maintain your account securely.
• Store your saved content in your library.
• Build time-based mixes from what you have saved.
• Estimate how long content will take to consume.
• Remember which items in a mix you have finished, so you can return to that mix where you left it.
• Understand product performance and fix bugs.
• Prevent abuse of our systems.
• Communicate important service or account information to you.

Turning a saved link into something that can go in a mix involves some automated steps. All of them are deterministic, and all of them run on the link you saved:

• Reading the page’s own title and description, so the item is recognizable in your library.
• Identifying the kind of content from the address — a YouTube link is a video, a Spotify link is audio, and so on.
• Estimating how long the item will take, from its published duration where one exists and from its length where one does not.
• Choosing which saved items fit the number of minutes you asked for.
• Splitting a long YouTube video into pieces for a mix — at the creator’s own chapter timestamps where the description has them, otherwise into five-minute parts — and remembering the end of the last piece you finished. Chapter lists are re-read from YouTube at least every 30 days.

We do not use large language models, and nothing you save is sent to an AI provider. We do not build a behavioral profile of you, we do not infer your interests, and nothing about your library is used to train any model. If that changes, this section changes first and we will tell you.

The My Minute Mix extension for Chrome does one thing. When you click its button, press its keyboard shortcut, or choose “Save this page to My Minute Mix” or “Save this link to My Minute Mix” from the right-click menu, it opens My Minute Mix in a new tab with the address and title of that page, or the address of the link you right-clicked, so it can be saved to your library. From version 1.1 that tab opens in the background and closes itself once the save is done; it only comes to the front if it needs you, for example to sign in.

• It reads a page’s address and title only at the moment you ask it to save, through Chrome’s activeTab permission. It cannot see your other tabs or your browsing history.
• It does not read the content of the pages you visit. The only thing it ever adds to a page is, from version 1.1, a small “Saved” notice on the page you just saved from, shown for three seconds after you ask it to save (this is what Chrome’s scripting permission is for). That notice reads nothing from the page.
• It stores nothing on your device, contains no analytics, and sends nothing anywhere except myminutemix.com, over HTTPS.
• Once a link reaches your library, it is handled exactly as described in the rest of this policy.

We rely on a small number of trusted third-party service providers to operate My Minute Mix:

• Supabase: For secure database hosting and user authentication.
• Vercel: For global edge hosting and application delivery.
• Google & X (Twitter): Solely for providing optional Single Sign-On (SSO) authentication.
• Resend: To deliver the message to us when you write in through the contact form.
• YouTube: To look up the published length of a YouTube link you save, and to play YouTube videos inside My Minute Mix using YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com). When a video plays, YouTube receives the request from your browser, as it would on any site that embeds a video.
• Spotify: To play a Spotify episode or track inside My Minute Mix with Spotify’s embedded player. Spotify receives the request from your browser only when that player loads.
• Upstash: Only if we have it switched on, to hold short-lived rate-limit counters — keyed by your account ID, or by your IP address for the contact form — which delete themselves within a day.
• Google Analytics: To understand, in aggregate, how people find and use the website — which pages are visited and which features are used. It does not receive the links you save or their titles.

You have control over your data. Your choices include:

• Content deletion: You can delete any saved item from your library yourself, at any time, from inside the app.
• Access & correction: Write to us and we will tell you exactly what we hold about you, and correct anything that is wrong.
• Account deletion: Write to us and we will permanently delete your account and everything in it within 30 days.
• Communications: We only send email that concerns your account or the service itself. There is no marketing list, so there is nothing to unsubscribe from.

To exercise any of these, use the contact form and choose “My account, or my data” so it reaches the right place.

We retain your information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by legal or business requirements.

When you delete a saved item, we remove it from our active database straight away. When you ask us to delete your account, we remove your identifying data and your whole library within 30 days. Data may persist a little longer in our secure backups before those rotate out.

We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. We utilize secure industry-standard infrastructure and encryption protocols. However, no internet-based service can be 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We use two kinds of cookies. Essential cookies keep you securely signed in. Analytics cookies, set by Google Analytics, tell us in aggregate how the website is used; they are not needed for anything to work.

You can configure your browser to reject cookies, but doing so will prevent you from logging into your account.

My Minute Mix is not intended for children below the applicable minimum age of digital consent in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

As My Minute Mix evolves, this policy may be updated. When we make material changes, we will provide you with appropriate notice, such as displaying a prominent notice within the product or sending an email.
